Meet Your Librarian!

Hi, I'm Shannon Holcomb, your Library Media Coordinator here at Northwoods Elementary School! I have been part of the Onslow County Schools family for 14 years, working in general education and exceptional children's classrooms before finding my home in the library. I truly cannot imagine a better place to be!

I believe every child deserves to find themselves in the pages of a book, and to discover lives, places, and perspectives beyond their own. That belief drives everything I do in the library, from our read-alouds and author visits to the Jr. Librarians Club, NWE Battle of the Books team, and the exciting Book Madness Tournament of Books. Whether your child is hunting for their next favorite series or just needs a quiet corner and a good story, this library is their space.

When I'm not surrounded by books, I'm cheering on my family. I'm a proud mom, nani, wife of a Marine Corps Veteran, and Onslow County native. I am completing my Master of Library Science degree at East Carolina University and am a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. I believe the best librarians never stop learning.
